Set screws

Set screws, also known as grub screws, typically have no heads and are fastened into a threaded hole on a component to hold it in place against another component. They are commonly used to hold sleeves, collars, knobs, and gears in place on rotating shafts. They come in a variety of materials and tip shapes which dictate their holding power.

Set screws includes Stanadards: Din 913 Hexagon socket set screw with flat point, DIN 914 Hexagon socket set screw with cone point, Din 915 Hexagon socket set screw with dog point, Din 916 Hexagon socket set screw with cup point; made of material stainless steel 304, 316, carbon steel, alloy steel etc.

According to the drive type, people divide them into:

Hexagon socket set screws,

Inner torx set screws,

Slotted set screws

Square head set screws without grooves.

Etc.

Slotted, Torx and Hexagonal set screws are not suitable for the occasions where the screws are allowed to be exposed, while the square head set screws without grooves are suitable for the occasions where the screw heads are allowed to be exposed.
